The ETI Research Brio XLR Connector is designed for high-performance balanced audio applications where conductivity, mechanical durability and effective noise rejection are essential. Both the male and female conductive components are machined from Tellurium Copper and Rhodium plated, combining excellent conductivity with the strength required to withstand repeated connection and disconnection in demanding hi-fi and professional audio systems.
The conductive pins of the ETI Research Brio XLR feature a hollow construction derived from ETI Research’s RCA connector designs. This approach reduces unnecessary conductive mass while helping minimise capacitance and resistance within the signal path. The female XLR contacts are precision machined to provide a firm and accurate connection, while a Teflon dielectric provides electrical insulation around the conductive components.
A brass outer housing provides vibration damping together with effective EMI and RF noise rejection, helping protect the audio signal from interference generated by processors, switching power supplies and other electronic equipment. The ETI Research Brio XLR also uses Rhodium plating applied directly to the Tellurium Copper conductors without an intermediate nickel layer, providing a durable and corrosion-resistant contact surface.
Mechanical reliability is enhanced through twin strain relief screws that secure the cable to the connector and reduce stress on the terminated conductors during connection and removal. The compact housing has also been designed to minimise the distance the connector extends from connected equipment, assisting with cable management. The ETI Research Brio XLR accommodates cables up to 13 mm in diameter, or up to 9 mm when the supplied insert is installed.
